Lorelai (played by Lauren Graham), the mother and Rory (played by Alexis Bledel), the daughter. More famously known as the "GILMORE GIRLS".
While the mother is all drama and imperfections, the daughter is the more sophisticated and wiser version of her. An American comedy-drama television with all of 7 seasons. The mother daughter duo exhibit a perfectly imperfect relationship. Mostly drama, the series also portray strong emotions of romance and humour. Despite the two protagonists in question, some other characters solidify the series with their presence. Luke Danes(played by Scott Patterson) is a rigid restaurant owner in a make belief town called Stars Hollow. Despite his rigidness, he's the most righteous and loveable man in the town supporting the mother and the daughter, every time they need a helping hand. My favourite character, however, is Lorelai's mother - Emily Gilmore (played by Kelly Bishop). The role of a perfectionist played very subtly, thus making it the highlight of the show. On occasions, one waits for the arrival of Rory's maternal grandmother in the show. The complicated relationship between the imperfect daughter, Lorelai with her perfect mother, Emily is adorable.
It's a great show for teens as well because of the high school and university (YALE) life shown in the series. The journey of an independent mother with her daughter, strained at a few intervals, is depicted in a very relatable manner. The addition of humour to the same makes it a very easy watch. The problems are tackled in a fun manner, thereby, not weighing you down with sorrow.
Opening theme, "where you lead" is very melodious and fun and you'll hear yourself singing it every time it plays. To sum up issues of family, romance, education, ambitions and even social class are portrayed extensively with use of witty dialogue delivery and the right amount of humour and drama.
It's one of my favourites and I will totally recommend it to all my friends.
Until next time,
Kritz!!!!
